A new year comes with new trends. Miami Fashion predictions have been trickling out on what trends will stand out in 2014 in South Florida and around the country. Even though there may be a couple months before you can wear anything, here are the spring 2014 Miami fashion trends you can look forward to when the chill leaves the air.
Pastels & Fifty Shades
Gray is officially in fashion, especially when adapted in a metallic hue. The infamous book series has infiltrated the fashion industry in 2014 and Miami fashion is no exception! The color is no longer boring and dull, gray is the new black. Pastels have also made a comeback this spring/summer. Designers take a modern twist on the traditional for spring 2014 by pairing soft pastels with vivid brights inspired by a mixture of blooming flowers and seaside destinations.
Men’s Button Downs
The crisp, menswear-inspired dress shirt enjoys a makeover with contrasting color or textured collars and cuffs.
The tea-length—between midi and maxi is the skirt for springtime (especially skirts with floral and bright patterns). Miami fashion mavens can work this trend day-to-night.
Crop Tops and Crop Jacks
It’s time to show off those sexy abs ladies! Crop tops will be reappearing this spring. If showing off a lot of skin makes you uncomfortable, high-waisted pieces paired with a crop top is an easy way to wear crop tops without showing too much stomach. Jackets with cropped sleeves will be making a debut as well. A jacket with cropped sleeves offers a peek at the layers underneath.
Time to put away your boots and round-toe flats from last season. It’s time to change it up with Pointy-toe flats. This sleek style can even be worn into the fall and winter months.
Out with the red and in with the tangerine! New York’s fashion show was filled with models showing off a variety of tangerine shades including spicy red-orange, marmalade and vibrant orange. This cool new shade can be worn all the way into the summer months. This will be a major Miami fashion trend since we enjoy summer almost all year long!
A lot of these new trends can be a little intimidating. Don’t be afraid to modify them to your standards and comfort level. One thing is certain…You will look trendy, beautiful and fabulous!
